Samsung Readying First Galaxy S4 Update for Canada

Samsung Galaxy S4

On the heels of news that a first update is hitting the Galaxy S4 south of the border with AT&T and T-Mobile comes word that a similar Galaxy S4 update will soon be rolling out here in Canada. Among the carrier branded releases are updates for Bell, Rogers, SaskTel and TELUS.

According to SamMobile, the new build carries PDA version ID I337MVLUAMDJ. No change log is available at this point but don?t expect any major changes to be included. It is more likely to be a maintenance release to address initial launch performance issues.

If you cannot wait for the OTA update to come through, the ROMs should now be available through Samsung?s Kies software. They are also available via SamMobile?s firmware section. To check manually for the availability of the OTA update, select?Settings -> About phone -> System Updates -> Check now.

More important is the fact that the availability of the full ROM means that work can now begin on custom ROMs.

Drop us a note below if you?ve received the Galaxy S4 update and let us know how it went.
