CBS is stepping up for a comedy starring Nick Zano and executive produced by Channing Tatum and Reid Carolin (Magic Mike).

The network has given a script order to Nicky, a multicamera comedy based on Zano's experience of being raised in a multigenerational house of seven women in New Jersey. In the comedy, Nicky (Zano), 30, attempts to move out of the house -- only to realize he needs to stay and help raise his youngest sister.

In addition to his starring role, Zano will co-write the comedy alongside Friends alums Andrew Reich and Ted Cohen, who also will executive produce alongside Tatum and Carolin. Zano also will be a co-EP.

From Warner Bros. Television, the comedy hails from Tatum and Carolin's production company and landed at the studio in June. This marks Zano's return to WBTV and CBS following an arc on 2 Broke Girls. His acting credits include Happy Endings, Cougar Town and features Final Destination and 10 Years. Nicky also marks a reunion for longtime friends Tatum and Carolin with Zano, who starred in 10 Years, which the duo produced.

Reich and Cohen's credits also include Rules of Engagement, Work It, Romantically Challenged and Worst Week. They're repped by WME.

Nicky marks Tatum and Carolin's first foray into television. They are prepping several upcoming features including 22 Jump Street, the sequel to Magic Mike and Evil, their Evel Knievel biopic for Sony and The Social Network producers Mike De Luca and Dana Brunetti. They're repped by UTA and Management 360. Tatum also recently signed on for a voice role in Guillermo del Toro's animated comedy Book of Life.

Zano is repped by UTA and John Carrabino.

Nicky marks the latest semi-autobiographical comedy set up this development season. Jay Baruchel (Undeclared) has a comedy set up at ABC, and Adam Levine has one based on his life at NBC, among others.
